So excited!!
My favourite race of the year.
Hope Dowsett does a ride in the TT.
And Carlos B, be good to see, really like him as a rider.

Yeh, I reckon it's the best GT. Easily the most brutal and there's always some super-exciting stages.
I tend to find it's those medium mountain type ones that cause the most havoc and throw up some interesting results. Am looking forward to a sky - astana dingdong in the high mountains for Landa vs Nibs -

Yes, I like this race too....and Dowsett, but unfortunately.....

Oh what a shame. He's been saying his form has been good to.
What a shame. -
• #7
Yeah same reasons I like it. And there are always a good few breakaway wins too.

What site?

Am I right in thinking no cav for the giro? Anyone know why not?
The Sprint classification is looking feisty so it's a shame that he won't be in the mix... But maybe he's thinking there's a bit too much competition to be worthwhile?

He's riding the Tour of California. Presumably at his sponsors behest.

Not that interested visiting races but that sandwich in Sampeyre. Would go again.

And on the Lombardia "would you like truffle oil"

Plus Olympics... Or has that ship sailed?

That is a BRUTAL stage. I remember when I rode the Bonette, it nearly killed me.
-
• #16
I'd be surprised if isn't selected. But he hasn't been yet.
-
• #17
All the flies that flew up with me looked more knackered at the top.
-
• #18
I really struggled up the last steep bit to the top. That was nasty after such a long climb. Wrth it for the view, and then the fast descent off south side.
-
• #19
That last couple of kms is horrific, especially at that altitude.
-
• #20
It's a climber's race this year.
-
• #21
Yeah, there is the 40k ITT, but then there is also the 16k uphill ITT.
Nibali, Landa, though I'd love Tom D.

Just seen Bobridge is riding. Got to be a tip for the opening prologue, even over fabs.

I've done Bonette from the South and there's a horrible ramp at the top on that side too. Did the south of Vars after and that's a shitter too. From what i can remember it was a great descent down the North side, which they'll be climbing
-
• #24
Yeah you've done them both opposite way to me, I did Vars up north side from Guillestre, bonette and then isola. Vars was tough!
Can't wait to watch that stage!

Cancellara has a stomach bug, so might not be recovered enough to contest the win.
The route has been officially announced
