Nice. Not seen a brake bridge like that before.

Yeah hopefully it will help someone identify the frame.

The brake bridge is similar to my Geoffrey Butler Columbus frame. The lugs look similar too.
Not sure about the internal cabling though -

Thanks for the tip off, Ian. Researching into Geoffrey Butler I've seen people mention that the shop had various people build frames for them which were then all stickered up by the shop as GBs. I guess there's a chance it could have come from one of those frame builders.
The frame has a few bits attatched to it now. I really should put up another picture.

Hi, not sure if this helps, Cliff Scrubb, Chas Roberts and Bill Gray all built for Butlers, might narrow it down a bit for you. The shore lines are all nicely done, a well made frame.

Thanks, staggy. I'll look into it.
Here's a bad phone pic of the bike in its current state. The fluted Kalloy seatpost and Fuji Track bars came from the forum. The SR stem and Elite bottle cage were found by rummaging in the parts boxes at the excellent Broken Spoke bike workshop in Oxford. A great place if you like budget bike tinkering.

I had some black bar tape put aside for this build but then spotted this urban camo stuff being offered on a facebook group. I kinda like it!

Camo is all the rage!

Really? I never see anyone wearing it! ;-)

Watch "Battle of the Bulge" their all in camo! I meant camo bar tape, saddles, helmets, it's "in" for 2016, trust me, I'm in the know!

My bad jokes are wasted in here ;-)
Here's the Steve Goff which will have new wheels & groupset and become my summer bike. Most of the bits for building the orange rat will come off this and are mostly Sora and Bontrager off a Trek that I bought off a friend and pulled apart to put on the Steve. Time to start taking this one apart and put them on a 3rd bike.

I got the parts all swapped over today, nothing like a rainy day to motivate you to finish those projects off. I just need to get the brakes and gears all set up now, front wheel was wobbling alot so that's been sorted. My first attempt at wrapping bar tape didn't go too badly, it came without adhesive so I'd used some hardcore 3M double sided tape from work, it was a bit of a nightmare to work with as it likes sticking to itself/my fingers before it sticks to anything else but I got there in the end.
Lesson learned: Get all your cables set up before bar taping over them, I had to unwind one side a bit to give me enough front brake cable.
Pics should appear below.

Having spent the last few years using one bike, the time has come to build another. The plan is to keep my current Steve Goff 531c as a summer bike and to build this mysterious orange beast that I purchased off the forum with mudguards to use for winter club rides, commuting and as a general workhorse. It'll be a bit of a rat bike as it may have to spend time locked outside shops and work in all weathers.
No idea what make it is although we suspect it may be Columbus tubing as it has Columbus droputs and at some point it has been repainted and a Columbus SL sticker added. The original paint seems to have been a metallic blue. If anyone has any ideas on the manufacturer then please let me know.
