My chrome chainstays are very pitted and despite trying the foil/coke trick and loads of rubbing, the pitting is pretty bad. I would like to ride the bike over winter so the next option is to get the inside of the chainstays painted. Other than going to Mario's is there some chemical treatment I can do to halt the spread of rust and then just have the inside of the chainstays painted bright silver or something?
