• Bought these from Brian Rourke when they were clearing their rare 50th anniversary parts and C Record - two pairs of Sheriff Star boxed NOS hubs, for two C40 projects. I have since decided to go cassette. According to Rourke, Road hub production was <2000 pairs as opposed to 30k+ for the track hubs so very rare NOS. Holy Grail kit for the Campagnolo connoisseur ;)

    One pair (32/32) I had built into NOS Mavic Mach 2 CD 2 with DT Swiss double butted spokes. Cost £550 the hubs, £280 for the rims, £150 build and NOS Maillard 7 speed compact freewheel £90. Happy to get back 10% less than I paid. No tyres mounted or ever fitted in a frame.

    £950 ==> £900 ==> ==> £855

    One pair boxed 28/28 hubs, with original instructions, spec sheet. Only broke the Campagnolo Controllo seals to see inside.

    £550

    Both pairs British threaded, both 130mm oln

  • Freewheel is 12-21 7 speed.

  • The rims are for tubulars. Mach 2 CD ceramics were the 'Service De Course' rims of the Sheriff Star era and proper expensive even in the 80's/90's.

    Pantani rode these almost exclusively.

  • Sorry to let you know but the Mach 2 CDs rims do not have a ceramic coating and braking with them will reveal a silver brake track eventually.
    If you paid £280 for the rims you were royally stitched up by someone....

  • Noted, but the Mach 2 CD 2 rims are extremely hard wearing. I've got a pair from 1993 which I've used every year since. I assumed they were ceramic.

    They sell NOS for £150-200. The hubs are of course the main selling feature. NOS road hubs are extraordinary difficult to find due to very low production compared to the track versions.

    Second hand pair sold last week for £555 posted, on low end Araya rims:
