• My late dad in laws (1950s?) lugless Claud Butler. Despite not having been ridden (we think) since the 1970s everything works and nothing is seized. The rear inner tube even holds air, the front appears perished, it was hung from a rafter and the old boy took it down now and then to grease the moving bits. It will need a proper going over to make it road safe, the front brake is stiff but moves, the seat tube and stem move, needs some wire wool on the rims, stem, chainset all of which appear steel. Needs a grease job, pedal threads are a little stiff but move no probs. Freewheel and bottom bracker nice and free. There are a few scratches but no dents or dings, the frame feels substantial for one so small. When he died I briefly toyed with the idea of cleaning it up for Mrs but knowing how classic nuts love 'patina' thought better of it.

'Lugless' frame - 49cm CTC seat tube, 53cm CTC top tube.
    Steel 26x1 1/4 (ERTO 597) rims.
Michelin tyres - sidewalls not cracked, bags of tread.
Brooks B17 saddle, alloy post, moves freely
Steel stem, bars - they budge
    Alloy mudguards, believed original
    Original pump.

£170 please , collection from London SE20 preferred
