  • New build for me!
This will be, hopefully, my commuter bike to work along with the Holdsworth Mistral (I think I'll use them both depending on mood)

I have got the frame so far from the seller in Italy plus Campy Chorus seatpost and hubs laced to FIR rims and a Campy 8v cassette.
The rest of the groupset I've got here on the forum and it's on its way to me (will collect on Friday.)

  • Tasty

  • Thanks !

  • Will be nice commuting with that. ;-)

  • Amazing frame! you made the right choice

  • That's the plan @WimVDD!

Thanks @Skull_&_Biscuits, good luck in selling yours!

  • You're gonna commute on that! Please don't ride it in the winter you'll destroy it, if it was mine it'd be a "summer club run pose bike" lovely!

  • why would some rain ruin it?

  • Change of plans. I am going full Dura Ace 7400 on it.

  • For commuting??

What a waste... ;-) My steel bikes only leave the house when dry and sunny weather.

  • What a waste :p :)

  • btw when I commute, I "train"...i.e. I don't go like a tourist.

  • That's how I have to "steal" my training too. But when it rains (or looks like raining) I downgrade my personal "show off level" and take my aluminium beater. ;-)

  • Why ?

These machines were raced under all conditions. And the Dura Ace 7400 is sealed too :p

  • And btw I don't really train, but I do like to push my legs.

  • They were raced under all conditions, that's true. But back then, spare parts were ubiquitous, now they have become rare and fucking expensive (an 8 speed Dura Ace cassette now costs more than I ever paid for one when I was racing back in 1994).

And most of the machines that were raced under all conditions, aren't the ones we are riding now. ;-)

  • looks awesome, looking forward to seeing it built up :)

  • me too!! Waiting for the groupset/wheelset to leave Holland, a seatpost to leave Italy and a BB to come from the US, only to have a complete Dura Ace 7400 groupset :-)

Should look great on this and perform admirably.

  • Those 7400 are great groupsets. I have an 8 speed version (downtube shifters) on one of my bikes and it works perfect. I think the 7400 is one of the most iconic groupsets Shimano ever made.

A seatpost is what I'm missing.

  • There are a few at an ok price right now on eBay.

  • Thanks, I'll have a look. Mostly it comes in a wrong size or heavily scratched (and as I tend to ride smaller frames, posts stick out too much to hide the scratches).

  • The Ones I saw yesterday were the short ones

  • Dura Ace 7400 components are in...starting to build it up
