Steel 55cm build

Posted on
  • Hi all,

built this last week out of the parts I have spare just for a bit of fun but deciding to put my money into a different build.

    55cm seat-tube, 54cm top-tube

I stripped the whole thing down, cleaned the inside and outside of the frame, chased the BB shell and put a camera up all of the tubes to check for rust. Everything is spot on as it should be. Does have a little bit of surface rust on the outside which would be really easy to rub down and respray or powder-coat or just left as it is.

Bike originally came with campagnolo tub wheelset, mixture of suntour and miche parts. Only original parts to this bike are chainset and BB.

Not exactly sure who this frame is made by but certainly Reynold's 531 by a British frame builder. Anyway, really nice frame with a nice BB cut out, heart shaped lugs, cast dropouts matched up to Time carbon 1" threadless forks. No dents, cracks, bends or any damage.

BB has been stripped of all original grease and serviced, brand-new headset has been installed, new inner cables throughout the bike plus a new Sram chain and Shimano cassette. In its current form this bike has done 30 miles.

It's running Shimano Sora shifters, rear mech.
Miche front mech, chainset and BB
Ambrosio on Shimano rear wheel, Mavic SUP on Ultegra hub - hand built for this built. 10/10 straight and the hubs run perfect.
    Time carbon forks
    Ritchey cockpit
    Bontrager calipers
(seat-post may be different to one pictured)
    Gatorskin rear, Ultrasport front tyre

    Pedals not included

    I'm asking £220 posted please

  • Nice looking build! Any idea how much it weighs?

  • I haven't weighed it I'm afraid! Maybe 9kg?

  • PM sent
