• I've had this for over a year now and I'm not using it enough, and I need the money to buy a shed for my other bikes. I was delighted to find a track bike to match my road bike, but ultimately I couldn't get to the track any more and don't use it enough on the roads to justify keeping it.

    The spec:
    Frame: Donohue-built 853, 61cm x 61cm
Forks: Original flattened unicrown style, drilled for a brake
    Headset: Campagnolo Chorus 1" threadless
    Stem: Condor 120mm
    Bars: Planet-X Strada 400mm c-c
    Levers: SRAM Rival carbon
    Brake: SRAM Apex
Chainset: On-One external BB, 49t chainring, pedals not included
    Chain: KMC Devil
    Sprocket: On-One with DA lockring
Seatpost: On-One 27.2mm with shim for 29.4mm seattube
    Saddle: San Marco Concor
Wheelset: BLB King hubs laced to H Plus Son Archetype, with hex key fitting
Tyres: Continental GP4000S II Reflex, 25mm

    The bad:
-The frame and forks have quite a few marks and chips to the paintwork on, so if you want it to be a minter you'll want to get it resprayed eventually. Most of the marks apparently come from the bike stands at the Manchester Velodrome, so they technically are historical patina, and add to the appeal.
-The seatpost issue: The seat tube is, apparently, 29.4mm in diameter. However, every 29.4mm seatpost I have tried, as well as 27.2mm seatposts with a 29.4mm shim, have slipped. I think at some point before I used the bike, the wrong size post/shim has been used, which means now you need to overtighten the clamp to get it not to slip. I did that today and it worked fine, but in the long run it's not ideal. It could be as simple as buying a 29.6mm shim, or it could need a sleeve fitting by a frame builder.
-Headset is a little notchy and may need new bearings.

I've been very honest with the description here, it actually rides fine, I just can't love it as much as it deserves.

Collection from E7 (Forest Gate), no splits unless the f&f and wheelset go first. Trade for a garden shed considered.

    £575

    Thanks!

(The picture below is in full track guise, I think most of the kit from there I still have and could sell, but it is not included with the bike. The picture with silver components below is how it would be sold)

  • I'll register some interest in the frame, I could possibly take the wheel too if the price was right - how much were you looking for?

  • There's someone interested in the full bike so that's going to take priority for now. I think I will hold off splitting for a week or so. But please do check back in then and see.

  • Just checked back and I paid £170 for the wheelset (without tyres and tubes) so I'd be after £185 for the wheelset. I'd have to have a think about the price for the frame and forks.

  • The bike will now be sold brakeless with a track setup - I will retape these bars and can also offer a pair of more track-suitable Pro-Vibe track bars (with more tasteful bar tape) as well.

    Thanks.

  • Any more interest in the full bike before the splits commence?

Because I've stolen the levers and brake I'll do the complete bike for £550.

    Split prices to follow.

  • Could be interested in the frame if you split....

  • .

  • I'm going away for a few days on Tuesday morning and would like as much of it gone by then as possible, so if you can come today or tomorrow please PM.

  • All of this is still about. Splits or complete, I need the money.

    £545 complete...

  • Everything is still available and I'd now like it gone so will happily split if that gets it rid.

Frame/forks/headset has to stay together though.

I also have a brand new 29.6mm shim as well, which might cure the seatpost slipping issues - anyone interested is welcome to try.

    Come to Forest Gate!

  • Hey buddy, any chance you'd be willing to part with the wheelset on the track build?

  • Sorry mate, only just seen this message.

I was actually about to list the pair of Navigator Carbon wheels on here so I'd be happy to sell the front and a matching rear. The Hed rear you can see on the track build belongs to @laner so you'd be getting the wheels on the bike below:

  • Also, last chance for anyone who wants the complete bike or any other bits off it. It's going on Ebay and Gumtree as soon as I have time to list it. It looks nice...

  • Last ditch attempt at buying the forks? I'd take stem, headset and bars too if that helps

  • Ah alright, I've actually been looking for a pair of carbon navigators! How much would you want to part with them?
