Thanks for the explanation. -

NICE!!!
So would be all over this...if I had a plus one! =(
Have a bump nevertheless

Would you split the original Dawes frame pump?
(serious question)I've got a solo in this colour, it looks amazing in the sunlight and fully rad with a few pink cables thrown into the mix. This would make a lovely summer pootler for some lucky people.

Hi there, your tandem was the source of all this mess. First I bought a Gitane to try it out, then this Super Galaxy and now I'm moving into class-A territory. Soon I'll need an intervention.
Would never want to split the pump for any other reason, but I'd be happy to pass it on to you. Will pm.

I'm 188cm, girlfriend is 168cm. Saddle a bit low on the picture, if I'd be riding it I'd bring it up a bit. I'll get back to you with the saddle height in front and rear as pictured in a bit.

Hang on... you’re 1m88cm? And the 55,5cm seat tube fits you?
I’m 1m90, so I assumed it would be too small. And my girlfriend is a tad shorter than yours.... -

Saddle height from centre of bb to saddle top, as pictured:
78cm front, 68cm rear -

@Lieven_De_Vlaminck I'm 188cm and ride a similar sized Super Galaxy tandem, clickable big picture at the top of this link.
In many ways it looks like this one would fit us better, AND match my solo super galaxy, but that's completely unjustifiable when my current one has served us so well.

Yeah, I know. Tandems involve a certain compromise, I'd even go as far as saying that it's more important to fit the stoker first, whereas the captain can use tall seat posts and longer stems to stretch himself. Have a look at @6pt Super Galaxy, for instance.

Ops, you got two replies in the end. My saddle height is 82cm, so set up properly I'd have the saddle 4cm higher than in the picture. I can throw in the long seat post I was using if you're interested.

Pump is not coming with the bike anymore, I'll take £10 off for the heartbreak.

Might move this to ctc, perhaps a better place for it.
Will prob leave until tomorrow, let me know if there's interest. -

Love the '531 Tandem' tubing.

Price: £540
I've bought this bike to see how me and my girlfriend would find tandeming. It worked out so well that we're now looking for another one to replace it. The only reason I'm selling this is because we did a bike fit recently and discovered that it's too short on the back for her, apart from that it's a lovely bike to ride, as can probably be testified by other Super Galaxy owners on here.
Overall condition is good. Paint has chips here and there, I made sure to photograph the worst bits. The colour has a beautiful depth to it, when the light hits it shows a shade of violet under the green, so respraying would be a shame. One of the stickers is quite damaged, pictured as well.
Specs
Reynolds 531 Tandem tubing
3 x 6 Deore DX front and rear mech
Stronglight cranks
Sachs Huret stem shifter
Arai drag brake operated by Shimano bar end shifter
Tektro Mini-Vs and levers
Suzue hubs laced to Wolber rims, tandem specific
SR stem, generic bars
Generic SR saddles
Measurements, all c-c
Captain seat tube: 555mm
Captain top tube: 585mm
Stoker seat tube: 500mm
Stoker top tube: 605mm
The bike was ridden fully loaded (front and back panniers, tent, bar bag) as recently as April. Gears are on the stem as I found downtube shifting a bit tricky when loaded. As a note, I removed the pedals, stem, bars and saddles as I'll move these to our next tandem. The bits fitted now are not of the same quality of rest build, they're things I had laying around. It's always likely that saddle, cockpit and pedals are changed due to personal preference anyway, but it's good to mention it from the off.
Any questions please ask. Bike is in Kingsland Road area.
