So I intended to service my front hub today only to find the locknut has been completely cross-threaded and when removed it peeled most of the thread off the axle. Can't put the lock nut back on now.
Looking on SJS they have 7800, 7801 and 7900 axle kits.
The 7801 looks identical to what I have, to my eye. However the tech doc for 7801 assembly doesn't match exactly the 7850 doc:
7801: http://si.shimano.com/php/download.php?file=pdf/ev/EV-WH-7801-SL-F-2513.pdf
7850: http://si.shimano.com/php/download.php?file=pdf/ev/EV-WH-7850-C24-CL-F-2715D.pdf
Reckon the 7801 axle kit will work? Or is this whole wheel a write off?
Update: SJS confirmed the whole wheel is kaput. Damn.
