Youth Track Bike - 650c

Posted on
  • I have a youth track bike U12, undrilled, lovely paint, 531, threaded steerer.
Wheels are very nice retro TT, not track specific (thread on freehub)
    150mm Cranks

Wondering if there would be any demand for this as a whole bike or even as parts? I have no use for it so should I split and sell as parts?

  • By 'youth' what age/size are you talkin? Also being in classifieds it should have a price tag :)

    Thanks, M

  • U12 = Under 12s - Afterwards they moved on to 700c frame
Vague idea on price ~£200 but don't know if anybody wants it. Will likely split it after work as the wheels would likely be wanted for a retro tri build.

  • Any pictures? May be interested in the frame and cranks

  • 46cm Seat tube - Was going to put an add up at Newport but thought I'd offer it to forum first

  • A number of enquiries so I will say that when I have free time tomorrow I will get all details up, at the moment I am contemplating converting the rear hub back as it isn't a track hub anyway

First price is £230 posted (I live on the welsh borders at the moment)

  • Spec:

Dave Hinde built Wolber Profil 18 Tubular rims (Never seen brake) Continental tyres seem ok and have been kept with some air in during storage so likely to be ok at higher pressures

Hope Titanium hubs - Front has track approved skewer and rear has a Surly Fixxer type converter in place

    Shimano 600 Headset

TA Specialties 50mm Crankset with TA 52T ring

Taya 1/8 chain, 17T sprocket, ITM Big one stem, Deda anatomic youth regulation bars

    @YeahNerdz has first Dibs

  • I have a similar Dave Marsh 531 with Miche components. These are way superior to what you get in the way of a modern aluminium frame youth track bike, both with regard to components and especially the frame (and the alu bikes are 500 GBP, or in that range).

If anyone has an older 24in, 26 in or 650 wheel youth road bike, with 531 or equivalent frame, I would be interested...

  • Would forks be drill able for front brake? Or would that be a crime?

  • no crime in riding a bike safely

  • Bargain. Nice UK made frame too :)

There's clamp on dia compe front brakes @Fintan I've one and they work well.

  • My well-travelled daughter gets back to London tomorrow. She's struggling with a crappy 80's Raleigh off eBay. I'll show her this. It'd be great if you could hold off splitting 'til then.
(Change the ad to say Taylor Swift rides one, she'd definitely go for it.)

  • Hi, any chance you'd sell it minus the wheels?

  • Would rather just sell as is due to increasing lack of storage
So price bump to encourage whole bike sale.

    £215 posted - whole bike

    £170 posted - minus wheels

  • Hi, I would be interested only by the front wheel (if someone is taking the frame, another one the back one... I guess we never know !)

  • Front wheel would be perfect for slave lo pro build. Weighs 900g with tyre I think

  • Such a bargain. My son won't ride track, he can't stand the high-achiever competitive cycle club type kids who ride at Hernia Hill. Wonder where he gets that from ...

  • Same with mine. We should start a get-used-to-losing club fort them.

  • Bargain, corrado's are very nice and this looks brand new!

  • Hi, is this still available? I'm PMing now.

  • Sold - Wheels will be sold in components classified
