Try shaving it maybe? Might be enough dense fluff underneath the loose straggly stuff to let you secure the velcro.

I went at mine with a flea comb* and it helped, although it didn't restore it totally to its former merino-mangling glory.
*I have a dog. He once had fleas - I, myself, have never had fleas.
Hey LFGSS mind hive,
My Chrome messenger bag has finally given up the ghost when it comes to staying closed, with the velcro now having substancially less grip than a slow loris holding onto a mini umbrella. I wondered if anyone has had similar woes and can suggest some ways to improve the situ? I have checked both sides and it seems to be the "furry" part that's become abit lackluster, it's clean and doesn't look sad, the bag was bought second hand but it wasn't old, just a little surprised if I'm honest as everything and their mums stick to my Chrome hip pouch.
Is it fixable or might I have to go down the replacing the fluff route?
Cheers,
Amber
