  • So, here we have what I believe is a Track Champ, albeit with different dimensions. It has the same seat clamp, cutout on seat tube and general geometry, however the down tube is a lot thicker than your average TC. If anyone has any suggestions as to what it might be, please shout it out!

So when I got it, the whole thing was sticker bombed. I decided to sand it down with the intention of polishing it, however she's only used for commuting so decided to keep the rat look to deter thieves. The look has quite grown on me.

    Frame set itself is very solid, definitely as stiff if not stiffer than its predecessor, my old track champ. Forks are generic carbon and drilled. What's included;

    -F&F, etc (54 ST, 55 TT; I'm 5'11" and it fits nicely)
-Stronglight 52t cranks and M520s (Can swap for Wellgo pedals with cages)
-Deda Piega bars and 3TTT stem
-Mavic Open Pro laced to Dura Ace 7600 low-flange double-fixed hub. BLB 18t.
    -Tekro brake calliper&lever.

Note that I am not including a front wheel. Hopefully this isn't a deal breaker.

It needs to be posted so that accounts for ~£30 of this price.

I'm looking for £265. Think this isn't too far off the mark. I don't know. Feel free to comment with abuse if this isn't so. Alike, questions are welcomed. Thanks.

  • That doesn't look much like a TC. Like at all.

  • ^Seconded.

Not necessarily a bad thing, might be something less prone to cracking.

  • Maybe a Fuji?

  • That is a visp

  • That certently devalues it sharpley...

  • Although I can't confirm what it is, I can confirm what it is not, and its not Visp. Having had a look around the dimensions don't add up. It's similar in terms of weight and handling to a TC, and it matches it in dimensions in all but the Down Tube. Although it has a 1" headset to add to the confusion. Offers welcome anyway.

  • I'd guess some red ones of this are knocking about too.

  • Different BB cluster, dropouts and that has 1 1/8 HT. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Def not a track champ, completely different bb area bit. Much thicker downtube, and not 1 1/8 headtube.

It's a pretty cool ratty frame, 300's ok for the full build

Interested to know what it is now heh, especially cus I have an early pre cursa (I am told) gfs bike that it identical to the pre cursa apart from has a 1 inch headtube

  • I was gonna say Leader 735 but I can't find one with an integrated seat clamp.

  • They look pretty similar to me.

Where the dropouts join the chainstays they have that same pronounced joint almost like pompinos do.

The seatpost and that brake bridge are the same too.

Stem is a 3T Arx Pro, they don't come in 1 inch?

Have any close ups of any of it?

  • Dropouts don't have the built in chain tug type things. Seat clamp is protruded on above whereas it isn't on mine. Dropouts dont have those riveted metal plates on mine. Rear brake bridge is un drilled on mine. The stem has a 1 1/8 to 1" shim beneath it. The TT and DT connect before they meet the HT on mine whereas they don't on the above.

Mightn't be home this evening but will try get some close ups posted here tomorrow. Thanks.

  • Better late than never. Again; offers, insults, etc welcome here or via PM.

  • Non-concave seat tube cutout points to it being a pucker track frame as there's some UCI rule about not using the seat tube as a fairing for the rear wheel or something.

    Paging @mdcc_tester ?

  • Non-concave seat tube cutout points to it being a pucker track frame

    Bollocks.

UCI says the commissaire has to be able to slide a credit card between the tyre and the tube. Making the cut out concave would allow one to run as tight as the UCI allows for minimal translational drag while maintaining the thick shear layer between tyre and tube which is desirable to reduce drag from the wheel rotation. On the other hand, the semicircular leading edge on that tube means that that flow is fucked before it reaches the cut out and it's never coming back, so the short flat-backed cut out is probably not doing anything apart from making the seat tube a bit less stiff than a round tube made from the same amount of material would be.

Also, it's pukka, one of many English words derived from Indian languages, in this case Hindi.

  • Every day's a school day.

  • Any ideas as to make/model?

    £290

  • lel, so close, but not rlly.

  • £280

  • Also willing to swap for nice road wheels...

  • £275

  • £270, offers welcome via PM. Will split if price is right.

  • £265
