Perhaps this will reduce the incidence of engine fires:

I think it's one of those things where people get a little jealous because most of the people in that video have absolutely no idea how to drive those cars or look after them properly, they're just a wealth statement. It doesn't bother me but I could see why so many people love seeing people like that damage their cars. I could rip the whole engine to bits and put it back again, most of the people in those videos probably don't even know what litre their engine is.
My father restores vintage racing cars and I've seen Ferrari 250 GTO race cars that have been rolled on a race track, vintage 917 Le Man cars crashed into barriers at 150mph and the engine goes one way and the car goes the other way, many of these cars worth between £2-25 million and repair work sometimes totalling to just under a million but people don't post videos about them because it's a race car that was being used for its intended purpose, these cars literally need bodywork doing after every race, the owners are out to win and have no problems putting their car on the line to win, which I respect.
Whenever I visit London I love seeing the supercars (especially hearing them) but the arrogance of some of the owners is crazy!

This didn't really happen to the car so much as the driver, and I don't even know if DeLoreans are expensive today, but I thought I'd include it for the sake of preserving the reference.

Vandalism is, of course, a constant threat. Quite a shocking example here:

Not bad, become a teacher. Retire before national average. Afford to live in that area.

Lamborghini carbonara, again. "Fire! Fire!" No, no, it'll be fine.
Also, number plate.

I hate to admit it but I find these Lamborghini revved to death videos extremely satisfying.

Lamborghini carbonara, again.
This is...excellent.
There seems to have been a flurry of articles lately about disasters befalling expensive cars, not only old forum favourites the Lamborghinis, but also Ferraris, Aston Martins, or Rolls-Royces. That these things get reported seems to be partly due to people's mania of filming just about everything, but also, of course, to the perceived newsworthiness of damage to such cars. There appear to be endless videos on YouTube about the exploits of those who drive these often stupendously hideous vehicles.
The excellently-named Lethal Bizzle had a crash in his Ferrari 458:
http://www.autoevolution.com/news/lethal-bizzle-ferrari-458-crash-in-london-70919.html
Another Ferrari 458 was badly damaged by a lorry:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2577530/170-000-Ferrari-parked-London-square-gouged-lorry-tailgate-driver-fails-negotiate-corner.html
An Aston Martin was recently crushed by a falling tree in Elia Street, Islington:

Engine fires in Lamborghinis have attracted much attention:

(A lot of web links for this one if you care to search.)
A crash involving a Lamborghini:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/10734723/Lamborghini-Aventador-worth-300000-towed-away-after-three-car-crash.html
Needless to say, this was also filmed by someone:

There are also various rather prejudicially-titled 'Super car driver idiots crash compilation' videos on YouTube to which I won't link in the interests of common decency. Let's just say that sometimes drivers of expensive cars are urgently required to show us what the streets of London are really for:

Finally, in the most devastating piece of news, an apple was once thrown at a Lamborghini:

No doubt these, not particularly fruit-throwing incidents, will keep on coming. In most of the cases linked to the damage appears to be only to material goods and not to persons, thankfully.
