ITM bars and Pasela's fitted- the rack is a little wide at the base so I've had to bend it inwards a bit to match the axle length - I'll cut the steerer down over lunch today as i'm fairly happy with that height
Currently waiting on brakes, levers and seatclamp to arrive

A contender for the classiest pomp in history, and shaping up really nicely!
-

Cheer @tyeness!
got the steerer tube cut at lunchtime - used a circular cutting saw... so much quicker than hacksaw and vice!
test fitted steel mudguards as it looks a bit bland without them.
Also I had to find a way to stop the rack smashing into the downtube every time I move the thing, So I've made some very rough little leather bumpers- I'll tidy them up for completion

No mad barspinz.

Nice! Glad to see that, I'm fitting a porteur rack to my pompino this week, and I'd never have thought to do something like that.
-
• #7
Soma Porteur could use a longer strut to level it out, yeah?
-
• #9
He means that your Lee Cooper rack which looks like a Soma porteur rack needs a longer strut to be leveled out.
-
• #10
cheers, I've noticed it now looking at the photo's again,
I've got another bolt hole to use on the strut so I think dropping it forwards one more will level it out a bit,Agreed is shares similarities with the Soma... everyones got to take inspiration from somewhere i suppose!

• #11
Its close to the V/O one as it doesnt have the pannier strut
-
• #12
super nice, i'm desperate for a porteur rack for the summer. and some risers ;)

• #13
Really nice, subbed!

I've always enjoyed having a rack ont the front, can't be arsed taking a bag everywhere!
I have got a king carrier going spare if you're looking for one? It's black hence why i didn't use on the Pomporteur -
• #16
Well, It's finished
Theres a bit of toe overlap so i'll decide if the cages are staying but on the whole it's rather lovely to ride
-
• #17
yeah, for sure.
ooh, been looking at those. will drop you a DM

Beautiful. Matching leather mudflaps?
And maybe some Zefal Vintage Bottle Cages:-

Leveled off rack and hub dynamo and this would have been A*.
Anyway a nice job, you must be loving riding it.
-
• #20
Agreed, I do need to level off the rack, sadly it's not possible with the current bracket, lee is going to make me a new bracket next week
Dynamo was out of price range really, this was meant to be built as cheaply as possible, but it's lovely to ride and the commute to work tomorrow will be ace!

That looks fantastic!

Very Nice!
I'm doing the exact same thing for my girlf except a few mod cons, so to speak, here and there. MTB levers, MTB Vs for better braking for example. But will go classic and have a VO finishing kit of stem, post and bars.
What pedals did you go for? They look like MKS. Also did you go for Honjos on the 'guards?
Great project!

Thanks man!
I would've (and probably shouldve) gone for MTB v's but i was disagreeing with the levers on offer, so i chose canti pull mini-v's instead, MTB v's would give me better clearance at the front over the rack support, so i may have to change. The pedals are MKS Sylvan streams and the mudguards are simple stainless steel items,
They aren't branded as they are OEM guards that I bought them from my work, but work pretty nicely! -

Cool, thanks for that.
Also, I'm trying to think a nice saddle that isn't too performance, Selle Turbo is coming to mind - what'd you reckon?
Time to stop spamming the Pompino thread...
Last year I raced cyclcocross, I wasn't too bad at it and as with 'Cross you tend to need two bikes,
My pit bike was the pink and glittery Pomino -
This year I've stopped racing, moved jobs (closer to home) and soon to be moving house.
For this i needed a nice simple bike to commute on as well as jaunts with the lady and into town, so below is where i'm at;
Powdercoat burned off and sandblasted:
Powdercoated Ivory -
The Rack was made by Lee Cooper when he built his Porteur for Bespoked show a few years ago, its 4130 main tubing with stainless mounts, it's bloody lovely!
The wheels are fairly standard, Weinman DP18 on Miche Primato,
I'm currently waiting for a few more parts to arrive next week
