:-( Real shame for old Teethgrinder.
Saw the status update on FB yesterday.
I am extremely sad to announce that at approx 8.10am this morning Steve was ridden into by a moped not paying attention to what they were doing. Steve tried to carry on but stopped in Wellington. He has then been collected by one of the team and taken to hospital. He has incurred 2 broken bones in his ankle and is currently in plaster. It is looking highly likely that he will require an operation to add a plate and screws. That is all the information available at the moment.

This is going to be a blow for SA. In all likelihood this means an end to any more 2015 activity while he recuperates and builds strength, even then he might just decide not to re-attempt.

Enormous blow, but he is a resilient chap who seems to go for a target quite single-mindedly and with a good deal of intelligent planning.
This was a big ambition for him, and I recon he's still burning to do it.
I expect he will have another bash, and will probably mull it over in detail whilst recuperating and refine his approach following all he has learned in the past 3 months.
He will have the added benefit of more history from Kurt to analyse and from Miles Smith.
Best of luck and a fast, full recovery to you TG!
