River Lee and Stort navigation

  • Hi, had some time today so decided to ride part of the Lee and Stort along the towpath. I work in Orthopaedic surgery doing 12 hour shifts, it kills me in theatres no natural light, lamina flow oxygen. During the winter I leave when its dark and getting home in the dark so I ride as much as possible to avoid SAD,s and clear my lungs of anaesthetic gasses.

Anyway enough of my moaning, only did around 40 miles today but the views of the river, blossom on trees and the first Bee,s made my day. So here are a few pics of my ride (sorry for the MTB). Apart from a few rough sections the tow paths are in very good shape so may try SS next time. Still not going to do this on a LO Pro though it could be fun but I'm guessing it would hurt.

Planet X are doing a clear out of tyres so picked up a pair of Furious Fred,s fitted them this morning and throughly enjoyed the difference they made over my old pretty knocked out Mythos,s.

  • Hooooome!
Roydon born, I miss having the Stort on my doorstep. We used to cover miles along there by bmx when I was a yoof. I'm starting a single speed mtb project just for rides like this.

  • Hi, just got back from another river ride in beautiful sunshine and to make it even more brilliant used my 1995 Cannonade Super V pretty much all original, apart from the Risse racing shock anyway some pics.

Got down to Springfield and turned back nice little 65 mile trip.
