Right opposite my office. I saw the truck and the police tape this morning and sadly could guess what the outcome was.

RIP. I ride through there every day and it is very dangerous. Something has to be done

This is a very nasty piece of narrow laned road which was reduced from 4 to 2 lanes as part of the Victoria Station upgrade several years back. The whole section of road is like a tunnel - both sides are enclosed by barriers and walls so there is absolutely nowhere to go if you get into a bad situation. There are also building sites on both sides of the road. I avoid it completely but if you don't know the area and just follow the main road, you can't even change your mind and stop alongside the road, and walk onto the pavement. I work just round the corner from here and have had a couple of family members call to make sure I'm okay.
Thoughts to the riders loved ones, family and friends.

So sad, RIP Rider

Terrible news, compounded by what sounds like the known bad design of the construction works.
Thinking about family and friends of the poor rider.

Dreadful stretch of road at any hour, trucks, buses, tippers, even one of the two lanes gets commandeered by black cabs for the theatres at certain times.
Thoughts are with this cyclists family, so so sad.
