Stelvio will be probably (almost definitely) covered with snow, don't think the pass opens that early.

Why Stelvio ?
For passing the Alps from Germany/Austria to Italy is much better passing by Passo del Brennero or even better by Passo Resia.
You can follow the cycle path "Claudia Augusta" (http://www.viaclaudia.org/en/travel-the-via-claudia/cycle-tour.html).Easy and very nice ride.

Taking this up again - due to the fact it did not work out last year.
Stelvio cause of i ever since wanted to ride this .... but bloody snow could really be a problem.
Got some friends working at the Bike Festival so this would be a good opportunit to get a lift back home.
Will see how things develop.
But i am still open if anyone has some good tipps for me.Thx
Hi -
i am making plans of hopping over the Alps from Sonthofen (Ger) via Stelvio down to the lake of Garda.
Has anyone of you some recommendations or did trip like this allready.
I will take my roadbike along. But i am not quite sure about the further equipment. 3 days are set for a approx. 430 km. Wanna go end of April/ beginning of May so not really clear how the weather might be ?
Any comments / ideas / support appreciated !
Thx
