Mafac Centre Pulls

Posted on
  • I'm currently building up a late 70's/ early 80's Harry Hall Audax/ winter trainer style bike, and am after some Mafac centre pulls for it, as it's got a braze on centre pull bridge at the back, and I'm after something a bit more interesting than the ubiquitous Weinmann ones.

The reach I need is approximately 50mm, so I'm ideally after are Mafac competition ones, or short reach Mafac Racer, 2000 or GT models

In addition, I'm after a nice 'touring double' crankset from the same sort of era (late 70's, early 80's) that I could polish up (square taper, 170mm crank length). I'd also consider a road double, but would prefer something that could take smaller than a 39 inner ring. The other option would be a touring triple.

Let me know what you've got.

    Many thanks.

  • I double checked the reach I need last night, and it's 60mm at the front, 50mm at the back.

This means that I can get away with a Short or Long Reach Mafac 'Racer' at the front, and a Short or Long Reach Mafac 'Competition' at the back. I therefore will be after singles in both, unless I can get hold of a pair of Short Reach Mafac 'Racer's that will do both.

    Thanks
