Exactly how stuck would you say the post is on the raleigh. (Obviously using the universally recognised scale of stuckness)
-
• #8
Is that a joke? haha. Well the seat post is stuck, meaning we couldn't get it out, but only tried a vice on it and no caustic etc so someone may be able to get it out.
thanks

Yeah, I was genualey interested in the stuckness of the seatpost, but realised the ambiguity surrounding the question.
Thanks

How much to post the Raleigh 531c frame to darkest Devon? Thanx.
-
• #11
Hey, well its £22 via parcelforce for a full bike so i imagine slightly less? may possibly be the same.

@robbo - thanks for that. I recently had a frame sent to me that had £12 on the package. I'd like to dibs the Raleigh subject to 2 things:
- the wear at the 531c sticker - is that just superficial or something more sinister
- I'll be using mudguards and 25mm or 28mm tyres - is there sufficient clearance (3 pics would tell me - with a wheel in front and rear, a pic of the fr and rr brake clearance and then one of how close the tyre is to the seat tube)
Apologies for wanting the detail - I've got stung by this kind of thing before. Thanks. Ben.

hi ben, there is no room for mudguards. The most you could use is 25mm tyres and road blades, its meant to run on 23mm with no mudguards as its a competition frame

PMd re Claud Butler

• #16
Are you sure that's a Raleigh?
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/215973/Lugs, gear hanger, no rear dropout adjustment screws, rear cable routed in top tube?
-
• #17
The Raleigh has a Heron head badge... but I wasn't able to find a Raleigh "Competition" with cable routing through the top tube like that.
-
• #18
Is the claud still available?
If so, dibs for a friend.
