"A police spokesperson confirmed that they had been called to a collision between “a truck and a cyclist”, and that at this stage the injuries are “not believed to be life-threatening”."

Just heard the commotion from my window and I'm on the other side of the roundabout.
I recommend avoiding coming through here at the moment, traffic is clogged up down all roads off of the Elephant.

Not life threatening could still be life-changing. Hope it's less serious.

I cycled past this just after it happened, all the traffic had been backed up and I was wondering what had happened. The rider was lying just under the front of the lorry on the left hand side, I saw what looked like a Brompton completely crushed underneath the wheels. It was definitely yellow. Paramedics arrived swiftly and the man was conscious and talking to a pedestrian. What was worse is that I overheard some man having a go at cyclists and saying this that and the other, quite loudly and making gestures to me and the downed rider. Hope that wasn't lorry driver but more likely a bus driver. Hope the rider can make a full recovery.

I must have passed a short while after you - I only saw a mangled yellow Brompton and a skip lorry. Ambulance had left by the time I got there. Relieved to hear it was apparently not as bad as it looked. Fingers crossed for a full recovery.
Hearing reports of a horrific collision at Elephant and Castle. Twitter reports of a cyclist being crushed by a skip lorry at the roundabout. Injuries described as 'not life threatening' - so maybe not as bad as it sounds. Fingers crossed for the rider: http://www.london24.com/news/cyclist_crushed_under_lorry_at_elephant_and_castle_1_3920071
