  • Hi guys, I have possibly the most boring fixin' question, please bear with me...

I have 22.2mm diameter bars and 26.0mm brake levers. Finding it very difficult to find a correct size shim, have tried Wiggle / ChainReaction / Amazon / eBay / VeloSolo. Does anyone know somewhere that sells these, or at least somewhere with a large range so I can investigate myself?

As a super confusing side note, the shim from my old levers was 22.2 to 25.4mm (according to spec), but it doesn't fit inside the new 26.0mm levers...?

  • Never mind, ended up using one half of the shim set and it seems to have worked well.

    As you were...

  • hi hamshit, you could always cut up a coke can and diy your own shims

  • 26.0 is a funny clamp size for brake levers. You sure you got that right?

  • TBH @M_V I haven't measured it, but they're spec'd as 26.0mm - Cane Creek Crosstops

  • hi hamshit

You might want to edit that. :)

  • Also, hamisht is an anagram of 'tha shim'. Thought you'd like to know.

  • "Or vile chicks". Touche.

  • We've been through anagrams of my name a couple of times. My favourite is 'is chick lover'.

  • Chicks are awesome.
