Can this headtube take a 1 1/8 fork?

Posted on
  • I have a Graham Weigh frame that I've picked up off the bay and was just wondering whether It could fit 1 1/8 forks. Currently it has 1inch forks with a campagnolo hiddenset.

If you look at the photos, by the looks of it the frame headtube lines up with the moda 1 1/8 forks but there is a bit of dropoff on the 1 inch ones.

According to parktool they should take 1 1/8 http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/headset-standards#campy

But my bearings dont fit the bottom of the steerer

    Hope this makes sense...

  • don't know anything about campagnolo hiddenset, but measure everything, and then this might help?

it doesn't seem likely to me but I am cynical. it will just depend on whether there is enough room in the headtube for both the 1 1/8" fork's steerer tube and a headset, and whether you can find / piece together a headset that works I guess.

  • The headtube will have angled sides to take the bearings of an integrated headset. You should be able to read on the bearings what they are to tell you what headtube dimensions you have. It's the 1, 1 1/8 45x45 45x36 36x36 and so on like in this pic.

From that you can find a headset that fills the gaps maybe.

  • you moda fork might have a wrong crown race on?
