Gah, why is nothing easy...
Stripping down the Joe Waugh for cranks and BB....non drive side is fine if a little stiff. Drive side
Round off hex key in crank bolt cover
Drill the fecker out...
Try to remove BB, get 1/2 way and the threads seize...! How the fuck can you get half way and the threads seize. So new BB will be purchased...
I already know that I am not going to be able to get the lockrings off any of my phil's when that time comes.

Actually thinking about it I will grease up the threads and screw it back in. Liberal use of WD40 from the non drive side and leave it to rest for the day.

Progress, old BB out...cleaned re-greesed and slipped straight into the Gangsta no problems
Joe Waugh totally stripped ready to be re-fitted
To bed, one happy chap..

I looks a bit awkward somehow.

Agree, don't think the spacers or the skinny tires help either. Felt quite nice riding in,
call it a work in progress,

A few updates:
35mm Paselas
Brooks Swift
Sorted the stem height out...Now feels very smooth...

Paselas look really good, I'd keep the flite though. Can't stand brooks saddles on modern bikes.

Sorry comfort over aesthetics with regards to the brooks. My arse and that brooks have been happy partners for the last 3 years..
I thought it best to start a thread on this as it might spur me into action and get the thing built.
So this has been purchased and is now sitting in a bike box in the utility room pissing off my wife:
I have parts lying around from these:

&
http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/215729/
(though the 1st Gangsta I bought got totalled by a car, so don't have the cranks, BB, seatpost & saddle)
I have also bought some decals (cheers @LWZ ), XTR V-brakes and will sort out some levers....
I bought a 27.2 shim today from wiggle ....
I am planning on the following:
Get v-brake brazes sorted for the forks (or swap with @swedeee )
Re-use the Pista cranks + chainring & BB (depending on threading)
Re-use the Thomson stem & bars
Re-build the 36h phils on open pros for commuting purposes
Re-use the flite transalp
Get some full guards as I prefer dry (er) feet
If I get it re-painted I want it to look like this:

with a matt black fork.
I have another set of phils (HF x32) on B43's that I will prob sell as I would like a set of CX wheels. My daughter is starting to enjoy riding her bike and the 2nd is not far behind so would like to be able to have a set of wheels to trundle round the woods with them...
I don't expect this to happen overnight as I have a Wife, Kids, Dog & accountant all vying for my time but I will update on progress as it goes..
