Could not believe the number of boxes. And thats With no crankset or brakes. Shimano did a great job With these Components in terms of quality feel and look. But the mechs are boat anchors. Definitely the best groupset for the job though. Lack of time and laziness, meant I often turned up to Mount Climbs With my mechanical groupset refusing to enter the lowest gear. I need a bit more fit and forget.

With a pair of 6800 compact cranks I won't be using.

I was meant to wait. But I got into negotiations with starbike, when ribble had their sale on, and I couldnt really turn down his offer.
its in a coop carrier bag in the workroom.
I have a TriRig caliprr on the way. Bought off eBay. Hopefully if I dont like the braking. I can sell it on at cost.
If I manage to get the bars/stem for xmas.This could be my shortest current project by st least a year.

This is exciting.
That must be the beefiest BB area known to
manmamil.Are your saddle rails round? Just wondering if they'll play nicely with the seatpost.

My saddle rails are round but a tad oversized. After reading the 76 pages of weight weenie AR1 thread. It sounds like it will work.
That seatpost set back and seat tube angle. Will put my saddle exactly where my bmc streampost did. A bit far forward. The big setback makes for a better Tri position when reversed.But I may buy the 5mm setback post. Which should be here in Jan 2015.

Hoping to get this to 6.5kg.
The stem, bars, and groupset are nearly 250g heavier, than that they are replacing. But the frameset is likely to be 200g lighter. Pretty sure the BMC was around the 6.5kg mark. So should be Close enough.
Its not a weight weenie bike. For the most part I chosen heavier Components. Focusing more on fit and Aeros. But light is Nice.

Just because I like quirky solutions. I was considering the Speedwagen CX stem (Enve). With the inbuilt cable stop. The TriRig omega brake can be run With or without its inbuilt cable stop, and looks cleaner without. But its well expensive, doesnt have the angle I prefer, and I dont think the Routing from exit from the zipp bars will work well.
The Tririg stem would be awsome. Could hide all the Di2 gubbins in there, as well as getting a inbuilt cable stop. Cant believe its stiff enough for a bloater like me to throw around on a road bike though. I could get it and test it I Guess. If its only good for a TT set up I can keep it for that.
Current plan is to go for the Zipp. It'd be a shit load stiffer, and looks really Nice With the bars.

Ahh good choice, provided the bottom bracket has better provision for the Di2 cabling than my Caad10.
I had to send my Praxis back because we couldn't get it to work. Lovely guys to deal with though, and gave me a full refund.

They are hardly used but scratched lightly in an area not visible when installed apparantly. Perfect for my needs.
The AR1 has brilliantly thought out routing. So the Praxis would be fine.
Saying that. My 29er and fatbike both use full HopeTech. Brakes, headsets, BBs, and hubs. I'll admitt to being somewhat of a fanboy. I may just get a pressfit Hoptech BB if the tool isnt too pricey.

Having a rethink of the cockpit. Looking into 3T Zafiro bars. Seem to give 3 Nice possibilities.
1) Removing the Extensions they are a Nice carbon road bar for racing.
2) With the wing Extensions in Place and possibly the little pads on the tops. They are a Nice bar for hilly triathlons (of which most are up here), or solo rides.
3) With full length Extensions With Di2 shifters, and full pads. They make half decent TT bars.The downside to this. Is the fact that my dear smud saddle is unbearable to ride in a aero tuck for any length of time. A middle ground tri saddle would be better.
I realise its freaky looking. But meh. The Whole bike aint going to be any oil painting.

Those 3T bars are some of the worst things I have ever seen.
Well I've finally sold the BeeMC frameset, and my 2010 SR groupset. They've never misbehaved as such. To be totally frank. I just wanted to try something new. As the BMC was always a stiff ride, and based on a Heavy frameset. I figured I could replace the SLX01 frameset with a flashy looking aero road frame and still save weight and add comfort.
The initial plan was to sell my F&F, and gearset. Then simply buy the Scott foil team edition frameset Complete With 6870 gearset off Westbrook cycles. But I never quite fell for the foil. Especially not in my XS size.
I then got in touch With Slipstream sports With the intention of buying one of their ex-pro Cervelo S3's. A bike I very much fell for. But the pricing, condition, and lack of warranty put me off somewhat.
After silly amounts of window shopping. I put a deposit down on a Felt AR1 frameset. I dont know if it was the best frameset within Budget. At the end of the day, it was simply the one I wanted the most.
I decided I'm going to og all aero weenie on it. Because I like building bikes to a theme, as much as I enjoy overthinking stuff ;)
Frameset - Felt AR1 2015
Wheels - Furry's 56mm carbon tubulars on tune hubs
Groupset - Shimano 6870
Crankset - Rotor 3D With s-type P2M, and aero QXL chainrings (52/36)
Brakes - Front TriRig Omega, Rear Ultegra Direct Mount
Saddle - Smud carbon
Stem - Zipp Sprint SL 100mm
Handlebars - Zipp aero SL 70
The plan eventually will be to get something like an Adamo saddle, and a TT cockpit. Hopefully With the help of the nature of the Di2 and possibly a brake cable Outer splitter. I can convert it to a decent Triathlon bike With little effort. But thats many swim lessons away.
