- 18 laps (1.27 km per lap) / total distance of 20 km (Women)
- Timed qualifying format to set 85 rider starting grid
- Electronic timing and scoring
- Track bikes required
- Lapped riders eliminated
- Points awarded towards the Red Hook Criterium Championship
- Qualifying positions 86 – 150 line up for a 14-lap ‘Last Chance Race’. The top-10 finishers will advance into the main event.
Entry was open, $55. Men's sold out quick, Women's didn't sell out ( I don't think there was a single UK female entry?)
No riders with doping offences allowed.
Big list of sponsors. Cinelli provide a men's and women's bike for 1st place, cash for fastest qualifiers and cash/prizes for the race itself.
This year there were 3 races which made up a championship: Brooklyn, Barcelona and Milan.
