if you're looking for a complete, i'd pick a suitable model from charge instead.
if i'd have to describe state i'd say it's basic china bulk with no name parts and a hefty price tag.
the "All models come with 4130 grade Cromoly steel; the lightest and strongest steel in cycling." is a lie.

If you like the look of it, go for it, having said that I would recommend the Charge Plug 1 or 2 (or the 0 which is £330, but with no fixed option due to singlespeed wheel).
Be sure to get your sizing right.

They are a bit heavy, but better than create/mango/other cheap options. You may be able to build something better from second hand parts for the same money, but that could be more hassle than its worth to you.

I've had a look at one of the better state offerings and I was pretty impressed as far as Otp "fixies" go. They look quite subtle and individual, and they don't look cheap or have major flaws like slot of Otp fixie bikes do. You'd get more for your money building it yourself from 2nd hand parts but if you're too lazy or don't have the knowledge / time to do that, I think you could do a lot worse than state.

I'd personally rather Buy/build a pompino instead from new or used parts, but it's personal choice

Get something from classifieds in here.

I bought a Plug. I don't regret it but once I built up a conversion and then a proper track frame the difference between an OTP and a personal build is chalk and cheese. Get State if you must, makes sense for convenience sake. But be prepared to want something else fairly shortly, particularly if you browse the threads in this forum

I'd stay far away from BLB and definitely source sumthin used from the classifieds here. quality-price ratio is the best you find in the market.
also the first time i've heard blb and fantastic in the same sentence.

Yup, don't have much good to say about them tbh.
State bikes are just your cheap Chinese shed, heavy, basic, hubs and bb and headset will fall out of it within a few months in the UK. They are built for cheap do a few miles knocking about, not proper commuting duties
Hi guys,
I'm new to the whole fixie business, and was wondering what everyone thought of State Bicycle bikes?
What do people think when they see one, and how do they ride? I'm looking to get a good fixie for my commute around £400, and came across this company, but reviews for this are hard to find.
I appreciate your help.
