Hi, nice frame looked at it myself, what size front wheel is it?

Its a 650c front wheel. Not too sure where to find a reasonably priced one. I'd prefer it black and looked into h plus son rims and getting that built up. Though will probably wait a while to save up funds. If you know an OK 650c wheel quite cheap could u give a shout.

I've got a 650c black clincher rim lying around in the office you could have for free if you come and get it. Alternatively, I'll have a whole wheel available in a month or so once my new one gets built.

subscribed! good luck with the build...
I should have shown you my h plus son 650/700 wheel set whilst you were here as am thinking of selling them too...

Are they the ones on the purple Concorde. They did look good. I was gonna ask but didn't have enough money to dish out at that moment.

Can't post pics till Tuesday.

Does anyone know anything about the history of the frame. I know (Or think) that it was built for some pro racers of the Concorde team and was built by ciocc.
-
• #12
yup - the pink/purple concorde ones...
That first number is the bike register phone number! I had it tagged a while back (might still be on there so if it is and you need to transfer it into your name let me know) - probably worth deleting those digits from here and keeping note of them yourself in the meantime...

skip this stem! it will stick out the steerer too much (probably twice the stem length)
-
• #14
Just measured them (the steerer and max insertion of the stem) and they are both about 13cm. Is that really an issue?
-
• #15
Well, it's not the nicest of stems tbh. But you can try it out ofcourse.
Good luck with the build, Concorde lo-pro's are fun.
Here's mine:

Yeah I agree. I was probably going to change it after a while anyway. I'll give it a go though.

13cm from the bottom of the stem to the max level? if so it will look really odd (and ugly).
These stems were used on budget raleigh bikes (i had the same one an equipe i used the first months after i moved to London), it will give you just headache ;)
You can find racing 3ttt or itm stems for really cheap!but as said before, give it a try, you'll find out if you like it or not ;)

No sorry 13cm from bottom to where the extension begins. Yeah I know its not too nice to look at but I'll use it a bit and upgrade once the bike is ridable. I'll also try and polish it, i doubt it'll come out that bad.

eventually got round to taking some half decent pictures.

Frame is really nice! why didn't you stick the stem in just to check the proportions? :)
-
• #21
I did and it goes in fine. I didn't notice it coming out of the bottom of the fork so all is good. I'm still going to change it after a while though.

That's cool! Looking forward to see the progress!

thanks, but it'll be slow.

THE PLAN
wheels rims: Mavic open pro, h + son, velocities (black/grey)
saddle: Selle itallia turbo or concor with the perforation (top) or just white
seat post: Quite like the campag and shimano aero seat posts (middle). However having a hard time finding any with a rails to limit length of 200mm or more.
Handlebars: Nitto RB010/RB002 (is there a difference?)
Stem: Don't really mind unless its not shiny
Crankset: some classic looking one (like the bottom picture)
Grips/Tape: White V. strong grips or soome left over fizik lightweight... (to match the perforated saddle)
Pedals: Don't really know but shimano aero pedals look very nice.

I was trying to buy this frame but you got in before me! I is really lovely, excited to see how it turns out!
Been wanting to make a lo pro for a while. Eventually got my hands on one, a white / red Concorde Columbo delta with a red cupido paint skeme (from @zatchmo: top chap [put up with me delaying the pick up date for a weeks]). This will be quite a long term project (my GCSE year) and will probably not get updated much until a certain time.
So far I don't have much in the way of parts. I did pick up a pair of double genetic toe clips (also from @zatchmo however not sure whether to use them on this build)
Also have an old (what I believe to be) sakea ringyo stem (judging by the SR emblem and the fact that from another Raleigh bike I found a sakea ringyo handlebar and stem) will probably try and polish this. (Open to suggestions)
I've also got a chain I can use for this bit that's not too interesting.
P.S. sorry to anyone who thinks this is sacrilidge but it will be a fixed gear build hence how I am not too concerned about having it period correct.
Will upload photos soon but can't right now.
