Here's a pic of the back brake if this helps:

Looks like a long reach dual pivot caliper on the back. Nothing bad/worse about it than shorter drop caliper just a little more fiddly to adjust. Unbranded/debranded Tektro r539 maybe?
On the front you will likely have the same but might not be. Worst case you could swap the front forks if you wanted shorter drop, v, disc.

I run a BRS-101 on my NS Analog and the longer reach is fine. I guess we should wait till the bike's delivered and measure it, but keen to order the brake and get on the road; difficult to find the reach necessary for the fork online. I guess it's unlikely to need anything longer than 59mm (such as the R539 you suggested).

You're probably right, should just wait and measure!
I think it is the original fork, as the 2012 version comes with blue fork and bars. Here's a pic of the front anyhow:

Will they have to go the disc brake route for the front?

I think the front wheel has been replaced at some point as it's different colour rim and no braking surface or disc holes(unless the black line is a painted braking surface? looks like tyre then reflective tyre strip then more tyre to me). I would be ready for wheel+long arm caliper or wheel+forks+disc. You might be able to post a swap in the classifieds to get the cost down a bit once it arrives and you can figure what's what.

The front looks like the original and the rear replaced. These are sold with disc rims and according to Charge:
" our distributor supplied ALL Charge Bikes retailers with replacement wheels that had a machined brake surface.
If your store has not supplied you these wheels, then you need to contact them and ask that they do so. "I can't remember the drop, I can measure tonight if you like. It's the longest drop I've seen.
I'm going with V brakes and mounting kits.

The brake drop is 95mm and the drop to the rim is 110mm.
I shit you not.
A friend's just waiting for a Charge Scissor 2012 to be delivered, but they'd like to run it single speed and therefore need to fit a decent front brake.
As far as I can tell from the pics it only has the mushy BMX style brake on the back that Charge fit to adhere to regulations.
Does anyone have an idea what reach brakes they can fit to the front fork, and will caliper brakes work? It's on 29er wheels.
