Light weight jersey for indoor velodrome?

  • Morning

I was at Stratford again over the weekend, good fun. I felt very old on the train home.

But my road cycling jersey is like a thick, syrupy glue around my body after an hour or so on the track. It's great for the outdoors for road spins, but doesnt seem to translate well into the warm indoor environment. When I went into the changing room, my face was so red it looked like my head was going to explode.

Can anyone recommend a very light cycling jersey for an indoor velodrome? Preferably one with a zip or half zip for a bit of ventilation in between rides. And also without pockets on the back? I just felt there was a lot of extra material there making my lower back into a lake of sweat, which I didnt really need.

Apologies if this has been covered before, I couldn't find a thread or info about it. Cheers.

  • For training I've found a long sleeved base layer to be fine although you may not want the mesh variety .

  • Kev any lightweight summer jersey should be fine... Should be a bunch on sale soon too with autumn on its way

  • Cheers dan , Wiggle have a sale on now on some items, anything you might recommend?

  • I have a morvelo mvcc jersey which has a netted section on the top of the back.

  • @dubkev - if you're still looking - I've just bought one of these lightweight long-sleeve jerseys from Wiggle for ring the track. Bargain at 12 quids, I reckon.

I got something cheap when I was in Canada but it might be a bit 'flappy', so I may pick up one from Wiggle. Bargainous indeed.

  • Since falling off and leaving a few patches of skin behind at Lee Valley I now always wear long-sleeves on the track : /

  • I'd suggest going for a size down on that dhb, I have a medium and it's effing mahoosive.

  • Just never wear anything you can't afford to burn holes in when/if you fall.

decathlon sale summer jersey all the way for me!
