Any takers for this beast? Perfect budget (as compared to your £900 LHT) do anything (apart from going reeeeaaaallly fast) tourer :-)
I've added up over £200 worth of nice bits added on it..new cranks, nice post, racks, panniers etc. The LX groupset is also really clean.

Split?
I could do with front rack and seatpost if so.
Beast of an mtb btw. -

this is awesome!

Thanks for the comments! I think it's a set of slicks away from being a real ace tourer..though it ate up 26 miles from Bangor to Criccieth quite speedily. I'd prefer not to split. 1. As is it's a really functional build and I think the post and rack may attract a buyer for the full bike and, 2. Because I'm not London based so posting large stuff out can be a hassle.

This is the exact kinda thing I've been looking for but I don't know how it'd go size wise. I'm about 6 ft, ride a 57/58 square in a road/track frame. How do you think this'll compare?

Hi, I'm 6ft2 with long legs and this is comfy for me. I ride about the same geo road bike with a stretch to the bars (I use a short 70mm riser stem). Basically what I'm saying is that if you have longer or at least similar arm length to me, it could be a better fit for you with less post, if that makes sense..
I was going to go for a stem adaptor with a 50mm or so ahead stem, which is always an option but really liked the quill stem I bought.

Are they horizontal dropouts?

No they are vertical dropouts.

I can do build options for this. For -£30 I could replace the ti post with a black inline post of good quality.

Some extra info. Just weighed it and it comes in just under 16kg without panniers. Not that bad really..
Top tube is 58.5cm c-t-c.

Would be all over this if it were smaller. GLWS

No interest in this? Can include bar ends too..don't really want to drop the price any more.

Decided to change the range of the cassette to 12-32. Now comes with a brand new cassette and 1 ring (42) up front. Almost the same lowest gearing and simpler set up - it's even lighter too :-D

I like! What's that top tube length?

Sorry, just seen it 58.5cm

Happy to include useful straps with this for rack etc

Price drop to £315 posted.

This is lovely - almost exactly what I'm looking for, if only it was a bit smaller... sigh

if you buy it i will swap you cash and a vgc canti-ready 19" 1995 saracen rufftrax frameset for the frame/forks.

I may consider selling the frame and fork separate from the group/wheels, so if anybody is seriously interested, let me know.
Feel it's time to let this go. Perfect heavy duty tourer that I've been mostly using for shopping trips. The front flat rack does a sterling job carrying awkward boxy stuff. I took it across to visit family in Wales last weekend, only a 50 mile round trip but fully laden on the way home and it didn't miss a beat. Even with MTB tyres it ate up the bike tracks. Imagine it would really shift with 26" slicks or touring tyres.
I really like this bike but don't really have much use for it now. It would make a perfect ratty heavy tourer, commuter or just do everything beater. It's a lot of fun to ride.
Would like to clear £300 - it's heavy, so lets say £335 posted. Thanks. J.

For sizing, I'm just over 6ft2 (long legs) and found this set up really comfortable.
