• Hi everyone,
I always wanted to ride a tricycle to have a feel of what was like and found that came on the shape of a fixed one. I bought this trike a while ago and it is really fun to ride but I'm trying to clear out a bit and I don't have enough room to keep it really, so here it goes.

There is no makers transfers but I was told that it is a Maurice Selbach trike. Frame number on BB lug is S 421 55 (the S might also point on Selbach's direction, but not sure).
Whatever make it is, it's a high quality trike fitted with the best period components.
There is another number on BB shell under paint but it is very difficult to read.

    DIMENSIONS
    54cm CTT seat tube
    56cm CTC top tube

    EQUIPMENT
Constrictor Conloy 26x 1 1/4" rim 32H front on BH Solite hub. Double butted spokes.
Constrictor Conloy 26 x 1 1/4' rims 40H rear, no name trike specific hubs with pitted chrome on barrels.
    Bayliss Wiley bottom bracket.
    Williams C34 chainset.
    The Coventry 1/8" chain.
Phillips alloy pedals (mismatched dust caps).
Resilion front brake and lever with original cotton outer cables.
    Beautiful and rare Constrictor grips.
Beautiful pattern alloy stem, head clip type and alloy bars.
Headclip possibly Brampton, Chater Lea top nut.
Abingdon Works differential axle (missing badge). Fixed rear wheels that will power independently if one blocks. The stays are extendable to tension the chain and then get locked by 2 pinching bolts.
    Period alloy seat pin.
    Brooks Champion Narrow saddle.
Grease nipples on head tube and BB.
    Pump pegs on down tube.
Lamp bracket boss on right fork blade.
    Mudguard eyelets on fork blades.
    Tyres are almost new.

    CONDITION
Chrome fork crown, 1/2 fork blades, seat stays and differential axle. Chrome is not perfect but it is very good for age, brighter on rear triangle a bit more aged on forks.
I do not know whether the paint is original but it is really old.
A few scratches here and there and there is a small ding on top tube and seat tube. Both shallow and difficult to picture.

    I'd like £350 for it.

Postage will be difficult and ideally it should be tested as the riding is very different to solo bikes and to trikes on a freewheel, so viewings/test rides welcome.
    I'm based in Southend
    Any questions just ask.
Apologies as some of the pictures might be shown upsidedown on mobile phones.
    Cheers
    Alex
