  • awesome bike.what size is the headtube?one or one n eight?

  • Thanks for the compliment :-)

    EDIT headtube is 1, 1/8

  • bump - price reduction £775

  • I can confirm these frames are superb to ride.
    I think you'll find its 1 and 1/8 steerer.
Your other geometry dims are a bit off as well.
    GLWS.

  • :-0 really? I'll have to go back and check.
I did notice that the geo I had measured didn't quite match the chart, I'll post some pictures later in the week to illustrate my measurements, then it might be obvious what I'm mistaking...

  • EDIT after much mucking around I worked out it is a size 54

  • Best measurement for evaluation in sloping geometry is 'virtual' top tube i.e.from the centre of seat post to centre of head tube horizontally, ( hold tape along a horizontal axis as if the top tube were not sloping ) not weld to weld on the tube itself.
Here's a Cube geometry chart, you can see the vital horizontal top tube is around 2cm more than the sloping measurement, a whole size difference!

PS where are you? the missus would love this...I have some lovely retro bikes also if you are up for a trade?

  • Thanks for the offer but I can't do an exchange on this one, If I sold my gf's bike and came back with more bikes I would be in so much trouble :-)

EDIT after even more mucking around measuring the head tube it is a size 54

  • hmmm head tube is usually between the headset cups, 15 cm ! Makes it a 54...i think we need the Serotta geo chart tbh, anyone's guess where they are measuring! :)
    so where are you based?

  • Sorry didn't answer that one! I'm based in London,

  • Ok , London is big place ! which part? :)

  • EDIT - after saying it can't be a 54 - guess what - it's a 54..

  • I'd size that as 51.5 top tube, the seat tube based sizings are irrelevant really, I ride a 48 Bottecchia carbon and a 55 Colnago steelie, there's only 3mm difference in TT length!

  • EDIT I Measured the top tube wrong - it's a 54...

  • What does the serial number say? The size will be in there.

  • It'll be in the format of "model"-"size"-"number of model in production run", i.e. SC570567 would be a Serotta Colorado, in a 57, and it's the 567th to be built.

  • OK so the serial number if F54 923.

    F for Fierte

    Size 54

    number 923 made.

    So I got there eventually...

  • Hey Chris - In response to your question I am North London - near Hampstead Heath.

  • I might be interested in Frame fork and seatpost on the off chance you'll split.

  • Sorry, looking to sell in one piece.

  • Saturday bump down to £760

  • Sunday bump £750

  • Tuesday bump £740

  • Wednesday bump £730
