Front rack. Carbon fork. I'm excited to see this.
-

Yep, not sure if carbon fork and rack will be workable yet. I hope so!

Sounds shit

Columbus made/make the Tusk Trekking fork, but it's not disc, however it shows that (at least one) major manufacturer was happy to do it.
Question is can we find disc/rack/mudguards/carbon in one place?

Can I use this https://www.lynskeyperformance.com/store/lynskey-endurance-road-carbon-disc-fork.html and mount a small rack on the mudguard eyelets?

Curious about the GI you're gonna use for fixed touring, I thought about fixed for a tour I'm hoping to do next summer but decided against it. Any ideas yet? Or is that too far in the future?
Either way this looks to be a cool project. Also congratulations on the auction, it's for a great cause -

I've cycled to spain on 66 GI, which seems to be the defacto long distance fixed gearing and one i was happy with for mostly flat tour.
Having a surly dinglespeed fixed cog should allow me to have a 40ish GI for climbing bigger cols. -

Sounds nerdy but rad. I approve.

What about 130mm spaced swop out drop outs? Then if you ever wanted to tour geared in the future you could use the same frame? Think that would be a great feature...

Sound fucking awesome, can't wait to see it.
Disc brakes a great idea too.

Reckon sticking with 395mm length and tapered steerer should allow this in the future if the option not available yet?
-

Plan to have this 135mm spaced so I can fit alfine di2 when I get old and boring.

Sweet. Although Rohloff > Alfine.

I put a small front rack on the carbon fork that came on my caadx, used it for my sleeping bag, litre of water, and my bar bag which was probably another 1.5kg had its weight resting on it - 2500 miles, lots offroad riding- fork is still fine*
*however will not be held responsible for catastrophic failure...

Can we at least have a picture of the frame from the eBay listing?
Or better your own pics if you have taken some? -
• #22
It's not built yet loic, it was for a custom build in the future.

Oh dear... I thought the bike wasn't built, but that the frame was... I was about to blame my poor english but re-reading the OP this was pretty clear... Apologies...

I don't think apologies are needed! I apologise if my reply sounded curt, it was not meant to.
I too am looking forward to the outcome...
A month or two ago i won the ebay auction for a Talbot frame to raise money for Rob English after his crash.
It was originally meant to be road frame, but after thinking what i really wanted and talking it over with Dammit, we've agreed on a touring fixed similar to the Path racer v.2
Plan so far is:
Disc brakes front and rear
Dinglespeed or Planetary crank gearing
Dynamo Hub
Front rack
Internal routing
Modified carbon fork
