Has this definitely sold? In Outer Mongolia at the mo' and returning to London in two weeks after an 18 month break - need a bike for the lady, this seems perfect. Second dibs.
Hi, I was building this up for a friend but she text'd me last night saying she doesn't need a bike anymore..so thought I'd list it here and see if anybody fancies it. I put a lot of thought and work into the build and I think it's come off nicely.
The frame is potentially Columbus tubing though have no way of proving this at the moment. It's pretty light, 25.8 seatpost, nice detailing, Cinelli S.C. BB, Gipiemme dropouts etc. I contacted Argos (the frame was made in Italy for Argos) but they couldn't verify the tubing without a frame number, which I have struggled to find on the frame. I tried to do some background research based around the size of the seatpost and the lug design but didn't turn too much up really. Any help with an ID would be great!
Size is 50 seat tube centre to centre, 51 top tube.
Components are as follows:
Frame/Forks - Argos
Headset - Tange Falcon
Seatpost - Zeus
Saddle - Turbo Special
Stem - Sakae Custom
Bars - Steel Humpert (Specialized grips, Shimano levers)
Brakes - Shimano Tourney
Cranks - Sugino Mighty 171mm (Miche BB)
Pedals - Kyokuto Top Run (Afa M clips, nylon straps)
Mechs - Shimano front / Simpex rear (Changed the Shimano LX)
Shifters - Simplex
Wheels - Normandy on Mavic Red Label Clinchers (Innova 28c Tyres)
I put a heck of a lot of work into the wheels - almost a whole tube of Autosol and about half a day, but they have come up beautifully! The hubs have been serviced, and the front hub could do with tightening by half mm, but they are great.
A very nice bike for the smaller gent or lady. The gold paint is difficult to capture by camera but it shines in all the right places and is perfect for Autumn. I really like it, the only thing I would upgrade in the future is a nice HG freewheel to get a larger range for gearing - it's the reason I went for the LX mech to accommodate a larger freewheel.
I've not rigged the brakes and gears up yet and tbh think I'll leave that to the buyer after postage. The gear cables are all there but I think brake cables and outers will need purchasing.

I'd like £245 posted for this bike.
Thankyou,
J.
