Kona Ute 18" Cargo/ Utility Bike with Panniers

  • I've ridden about 900 miles on this and it has happily carried all of my shopping even when I've had enough on the back to make the front wheel lift. It's the smaller of the two sizes and to be honest at 5'10" I've considered altering the setup - but then again its not been a big issue and nearly all of the above mileage has come from commuting 20 miles into work then home again with the shopping en route, so it isn't that bad!

It's got to go because I'm now unemployed and I've got way too much money leaving my account and none coming in. There are a number of scratches and such, nearly all of which have come from trying to squeeze it into the garage and a lot of them are on the rear pannier frames as a result of standing it on end. Alloy frame so no rust there. There is a small tear in the seat again from being in the garage.

Otherwise it is all working fine but its been used so there is rust on bolt heads etc. Panniers are one of the huge orange ones and two of the smaller black ones - so enough to fill both sides. I will try and get photos of those but they are currently buried in the garage so that won't be easy!

Location is Woking. I'm going to be away from home until tomorrow sometime but I've got to put this up now as I've put it off way too many times. I would like something around the region of £300 since that is a little less than I could probably get selling elsewhere and I'd like to see it stay in the forum.

  • If I had £300 id be all over this.
Seen someone locally riding one of these and they seem so functional.
Would prob make a study tourer. Are they heavy?

  • Alloy frame so surprisingly light - look really heavy but really aren't. I bought it with touring in mind as it happens - or at least weekend journeys, but never quite got round to it.

  • In lieu of pannier shots here a couple of photos that I took on my last shopping run

  • Hi there,

Bit of a long shot, but did this sell in the end?

  • As it happens it didn't. I was busy moving and didn't get time to list it elsewhere. Shortly it needs to move from its current home, which is twenty miles from where I now live so is most certainly up for sale to anyone interested as I've not ridden it in a year.

  • Hi,

Daft question I suspect, but is this still for sale? Have always wanted one, and now have the space.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

As it happens yes it is. I'm clearing space in my shed at the moment and this is in the firing line.

It is now based in Hanworth TW13, so a bit more convenient for London.
