Hi there. A belt-drive frame needs to have a breakable chainstay, seat stay or rear dropout, since the belt is a single piece and cannot be broken like a chain. So I think retrofitting is possibly out of the question. Haven't see them sold as frame-only. Best bet might be to commission a framebuilder to make you one, or buy an off-the-peg complete bike and customise it… Hope that helps

Worth looking at the Gates Belt Drive Facebook page for frame suppliers.

Thanks guys.
Is Viking 531 frame a good frame for converting to single-speed?
Maybe along with one of these to convert it to belt drive:

I want to start building a single speed with a belt drive. Any pointers? Can I buy a ready-made frame (if they're out there they're not that obvious)? What's best way to retrofit? Are their known frames that work well with belt drive retrofits (incl. for instance larger chainring etc.)?
