Thanks for the links, I'd somehow overlooked that first Kilauea in my own searches. Will investigate further.

Not a Kona but a pretty nice frame for a reasonable price http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=300249
add a set of nice Pace forks http://www.lfgss.com/thread130474.html -

Kona`s tend to be long. I suggest you consider 17" as well.

add a set of nice Pace forks http://www.lfgss.com/thread130474.htmlThat Saracen is incredible! Can't really justify the cost of building it up though for what is intended to mostly be a lockable, urban run-around.

Secured a Lava Dome for not too much money, so I am all set for now (though I've still got a hankering for an Explosif, should a frame pop up at a good price). Thanks all.
After a 90s rigid mountain bike. Steel, v-brakes or cantis, preferably a threadless headset.
I usually ride a 58cm road frame so I reckon a 19/20" mountain bike frame should be about right.
Thanks..
