R.I.P Cliff Shrubb.
Bit late on this for the forum but I thought I'd put this here out of respect.
Master frame builder Cliff Shrubb died in a wipe out last week - apparently not involving any other vehicles/persons whilst he was out cycling with friends. The accident occurred outside a chemist, staff tried to resuscitate Cliff with a defibrillator but unfortunately to no avail.
It's been on topic at work this and last week because some of my friends/colleagues personally knew him, one who's son has had a custom built Cliff Shrubb frame via Claud Butler.
So anyone smashing around on a vintage Claud Butler - late 50's to early 70's or a signature Cliff Shrubb frame or have had bike serviced at Pearsons within the last few years, where he worked post frame building, please give a moment of thought because we have lost a proper legend.
Police have re-issued a witness appeal so they can try and put together a better picture of what exactly happened during the accident: http://road.cc/content/news/120998-west-sussex-police-re-issue-cliff-shrubb-fatal-bike-fall-witness-appeal
