what is the frame
what are the forks -

For what you have in mind, as long as the steerer matches the head tube, you'll be OK, the fork rake is not massively different. A CX fork will have blades about 40-50 mm longer, so if you fit a road fork, the front of your bike will end up a bit lower, but it's a fixed bike, so I assume you don't care too much... on the up side you'll be more aerodynamic...

ah that's good to know! Thanks!
I'm still trying to find cyclocross one for now... -

angle of fork to road will be much steeper, would not recommend.

I am looking for info on-line, it all depends on the forks and the frame (of course, what a surprise!), in the sense that some combinations of cyclocross frame and road forks WOULD work, but yeah as it is not an exact science and possibly lead to money wasted, I'll wait until I find a cyclocross forks for it.

Should be okay, might be a small issue with your feet being a bit closer to the fornt wheel but thats it.

You'll have a bike with a caliper brake on the front and a cantilever on the back. It'll look odd but work ok.

why so much disagreement ? :/

Because the effect of the steeper head angle and decreased bb height is unknown.
You'll still be able to ride the bike.
It might just ride like a dog though

yeah I think as said before it really depends on the fork I find. The frame it was intended to might be similar to mine, and so it won't affect ride much. But it might have been for a totally different frame, and in that case it'll suck :)

You will face limitations in installing real cyclocross tires on the front fork. Usually you will be limit to 28 mm tire width . You can find a real value xc fork around 100 usd. (Chromoly )

I won't be using it as a cyclocross machine but fixed or for short rides.
It'll be a bit of a shame, but got too many bikes already and don't want to spend much here -

yeah lazily looking for cyclocross forks though :)
Hi there,
I've got a cyclocross frame with no forks.
Non cyclocross forks that would look great on it just popped out on ebay.
You guys thinks is it ok to put them on the cyclocross frame (steerer len is ok) ?
Would like your opinion on this, please.
The bike will be probably built as single speed/fixed if that matters.
Thanks!
