  • To summarise so far:

    Greetings all,

It's been a long time since my last project. I can sense June is a good time to start a new project so I'll be building [insert frame name here] equipped with full NJS something bits. Yeap I know some say full NJS build is boring but I got the fever again! I'll do things differently this time, be collecting all parts now then in the interim fingers crossed I'll get a suitable frame.

Did a head start last week and ordered some bits. Some that have arrived this week.

    1. From Japan! Nitto Jaguar stem, Soyo tyres, Sugino Mighty Competition 50T, and 7600 hubs with DA lockring and 14T cog.

    2. From Sweden (Thanks Pär!). A pair of Araya 16B rims. Very faint NJS logo, good enough for me.

Not much of a project now but I've ordered the rest of the bits. Will keep y'all updated!

    Cheers,

    Kal

  • Is Telescope's Georama the right size? Looks lovely
    https://www.lfgss.com/thread127630.html

  • Thanks both!

Saw that Nag and Georama, they're both great frames but I'm looking something sparkly. Size wise, they're spot on!

Edit: the Georama is apparently too small

  • ^cheers dude. Too small for me I'm afraid. I take size 56-57.5ctc

And before anyone offering me frames from NJS-export again I've seen all their frames in my sizes but will wait for something else. Thanks!

  • Watched!

  • I've got some Sugion Gran Mighty cranks spare, any good?

  • Have you tried Jauce?

Spotted a black sparkly Samson on there 3 weeks ago, 57cm. ALMOST made a punt on it! ;P

Never heard of it. Checking now

  • hi ky_xlo, nice project you have started, will be following it.

could I ask where will you get those bolts that secure the chainring on the crank?

  • Crank bolts? You can get it almost anywhere. Try eBay

  • YES! Kal I'm feeling good about this!

What about buying a frame that fits and then getting it restored ? I recently spoke to Mario Vaz and was looking at his rainbow sparkle that he has in stock, very nice and he can alter the amount of sparkle you want. Just a thought...

Yeap already on it, spoke to him last month about the idea of sparkly spray and he said it's possible. Your two-tone Denti looks neat, I'm very confident he'd make a nice sparkly frame. Right now I'm still deciding which frame to get.

Eimei is here if it takes your fancy. Would be nice to watch it being build up properly with full njs

Too small for me dude, GLWS though

  • I was gonna start a very similar thread...

  • These arrived yesterday and today:

    1. Disco Hubs (Unz Unz Unz..!!) for alternative non-NJS wheel, FG-8P/E saddle, TT Protector, Hoshi spokes, Nitto Bar Ends, dust caps

    2. Nitto SP72 30mm for saddle above

Edit: Just realised this is my 1000th post, whoop whoop!

Keen eye haha, I would've never seen that in a million years.

Is that some sort of proxy service?

  • Is that some sort of proxy service?

    According to the site...

How to bid on Yahoo Japan Auctions?
Most Japanese sellers will not deal with bidders from outside of Japan. That's why it's helpful for you to use an intermediary service that will deal with the seller on your behalf. At this point, you can use JAUCE to place your bids in real-time and JAUCE will do the rest to ship the items to you. This way, you can enjoy Japanese online auctions from the comfort of your own home.

  • Kal? Where are your dust caps from?

  • Also, on the subject of Jaunce, I just had a look and it seems that bike frames aren't covered by their service.

  • From Alexscycle. Which frame you're talking about on Jauce? Because if it's the 57cm Samson I couldn't find it.

  • From Alexscycle.

    TY

  • Finally got a frame now and it's a lo-pro! Hopefully will meet the seller this wednesday. This build will not be full njs anymore because I'll need 650c front. Finally can change the thread title soon. In the meantime received these bits in the past 2 weeks:

    1. Araya SA-730 rim for the rear. Finding the same Araya Super Aero 650c front will be a nightmare!

    2. Nitto Riser + correct Suzue hub to match rear rim's holes + and Crane bell

    3. And finally pedals
