• Anybody want this before it goes on ebay? Old Raleigh, 56cm frame, originally geared, but set up in the old style as fixed, with front brake, using the old 27" wheelset with the fixed side of the hub. It has a nice double chainring and the derailleur and gear lever are available, if required. It rides quite well as it is. Please note though - as the photos show, whilst the cotter pins are secure, they are bent at the tips, so can't be removed easily (drilling?). What happened is that I took the bike into a bike shop to have the chainwheel, crank arms and bb removed, with a view to getting the whole thing powdercoated. Said bike shop gave it back to me with the cotter pins in their current state. The irony is that if I'd been patient, I'm pretty sure I could have removed them with some gentle persuasion. Such is life. Anyway, the bike's a beater with average paint and some nice old bits - good wheelset, centre-pull Weinmann Vainqueur brakes with "made in Switzerland" on the back (50s/60s?), nice stem and bars. £75 for the whole thing?

    • Raleigh fixed 5.jpg
  • Have a bump for receiving decidedly shoddy service from that bike shop, who I suppose can't be named..

I've bent cotter pins myself, when I was 12.

  • What's the saddle?

  • It's a Wright's - no plate at the back though.

  • no interest here. Thread closed.
