Bottom bracket conversion

Posted on
  • Hello,
    i cant seem to find a straight answer using google, so i put my question to the noble folk of lfgss. I have a bike with threaded bottom bracket, currently octalink. I want to get myself a nice carbon crankset to really finish off the bike. Do i need to stick with octalink / square taper or can i thread some sort of conversion in to use either hollowtech maybe even bb30? Any ideas?
    thanks

  • Bb30 not possible, hollowtech/gxp/FSA systems are fine you just need to know if you have IS or Italian threading

  • Thanks. I dont know why it wasnt that simple on the internet. Its british threading. Is gxp the sram stuff? Ta

  • Bb30 is possible, with one of these bottom brackets;

    But, it's probably easier if you tell us what cranks you have and what frame you are trying to fit them to.

  • Harvey, trust you to come up with what must be the only exception. Does that monstrosity work with anything other then e13 cranks?
