My First road bike!

hey guys, I'm going to attempt to create and stay on top of this CP thread!

Ive decided to build my first road bike, been riding fixed for over two years, road MTB and BMX for many years before getting the fixed!

Now I've decided I want to race next year so I need a road bike.

Trying to find a decent road frameset within my budget was tough (around £900-1000 full build) untill a friend of mine mentioned he had a Boardman Pro Carbon in my size for sale...So i snapped it up! I know people have some issued with boardman but in all honesty the framesets are not that bad, but we will see over time, and if you have any opinions or facts let me know!

I had some Planet X Time Trial forks that I thought would fit but they never as the boardman has a tapered head tube, so I ended up buying some chinese carbon forks...

Also going to build this with Shimano ultegra 6700 2x10 groupset. Though it will have Sram force cranks as i already had those lying around, and itll have mavic aksium race wheel.

Shifters: Ultegran 6700

Chain: Ultegra 10 speed
Cassette: Ultegra 6700
Wheels: Mavic Aksium Race
Tyres: I have no idea what to get
Seat: Selle SLR

Thats the frame. Its brand new and a XL. I got it for a steal of a price so thats one reason why I could not resist!

Were you once on pinkbike with the same username? Its quite a distinctive username and I'm sure I've seen it before in the past.

I don't use it anymore, but I did years ago.

Ordered the rest of the groupset, all ultegra 6700. Should be here tomorrow.

I do need a new seat post as that one is hidious, anyone know of a 10mm set back post?

I can say its fast, need to tweak a few angles and take it out for its first proper ride the weekend after all my assignments are done!

cannot forgive the sram chainset with shimano groupo, other than that it looks great!

I will get ultegra chain set one day. Not really that bothered right now! I'm just happy how it rides.

I wouldn't bother. The SRAM one is better aesthetically anyway.

If the mismatching logos really grate on you, just strip the lacquer, logos and clearcoat.

yeah im not to bothered. Plus I like the look of Sram force cranks.

need a new seatpost asap though.
