For Sale: Specialized Tricross Singlespeed

  • For sells is this Specialized Tricross Singlecross XL (58cm)
I've only had it a few weeks and its a cracking bike but not what I need right now and I can only afford to keep one bike.
Specialized stopped making the bike in a SS version in 2009 and this is the latest version you'll find. The green ones are older, you probably won't find another like this, took me weeks to get it. A fixed gear with mahoosive tyres, Rad.

    57.5 TT
    58 ST

    Aluminium frame, carbon 'Fact' forks
Sugino Messenger RD2 crankset 42t ring, with Wellgo pedals (Without toe clips)
Tektro something or other brakes and levers
One of the steerer spacers says Cane Creek, don't know whether specialized used a single Cane Creek spacer but I'd have thought the headset is CC
    Alex Rims, Bontrager 28c tyres
20t freewheel one side, miche 17t cog and dura ace lockring on the other
The frame and forks will probably take 42c tyres or something like that, the forks probably even bigger than that. So much room for activities.
Bottle cage, front and rear mudguards
    What more could you want?
    SOLD
I'd trade it for something tarck and fixed i.e. track champ, leader, something steel. Just so long as its fixed, and 56 or 58cm
    Still looking though ^
No postage, collection from E8 or can deliver around central

  • Looks good, great value. Why did Specialized stop making these?

  • No idea, its a fantastic bike. They still do the tricross but only geared with vertical dropouts etc.
It would be a great budget SSCX build

Here's the link to it on Spesh's site, giving a more accurate list of specs

  • Can throw in some new pink cinelli bar tape to make it a bit snazzy

  • Now on ebay

  • Can't find on ebay so I assume it might have gone already, but potential interest over here if not.

  • Great bike, I really loved mine.

£300 might be a big ask though. I bought mine brand new for £300 from Pearson about four years ago. It was the older one though.

  • A really tatty ratty green one sold on here for 250 recently so I've gone from that and what I paid. The geared ones are about 700 new, can't see how a brand new single speed one would be £300 but fair play

  • Yes I know they were originally selling for about £350.

Phil721 - get in touch if you're still interested in selling here. All one word: ben r knowles (at) gmail

  • I sent you the link in a visitor message on your profile section of this site. Couldn't send a pm as you're new here

  • Hi Phil,

Thanks for sending me that link. It looks like a great bike, but I'm not willing to pay £300 for it. Please come back to me when you're willing to do some light haggling. I should be able to come and collect and pay cash as long as you're not right out in the 'burbs of London. E-mail address above.

    Ben

  • Not wanting to step on Flyingfurball's toes but would be interested in this and collect, paying cash. Your ebay/paypal fees at what you've listed would be £40 so would be looking at paying £260. dan1979 at gmail com as won't be able to log on to boards tomorrow.

  • Sold and gone!
    Thanks for the interest.
If anyone has a dolan or other budget track bike/frame, get in touch

  • Bike was as described (well, slight wobble to the wheels, but I'm being very picky) and Phil was a pleasure to deal with.

Hope you took my advice with what to invest the cash in ;)
