• So I still haven't found my backpack - Deuters were nice, but not good enough to keep me loyal. I then switched to Vaude and the same - very good bag, comfortable durable, but nothing standing out to recommend it.

And now the Vaude zips' one tooth is missing, the zip split and I can't move the sliders to the correct end of the zipper to see if it locks with the missing tooth.

Of course it happened a few months after the warranty expired (it's possible zips are not covered anyway) but I don't want to go for another 60-80 pound bag without attempting to repair this one.

    Any advice?

  • Any decent seamstress/tailor/clothing alteration shop should be able to do this.

  • Local dry cleaners? They often offer services like this.

    But of course....

  • Would shoot Vaude an email just to see if they are game for repairing it.

I had a 6/7 year old Lowe Alpine zip fixed at no cost, the were happy to help even though it was so old.
