There's one more four week track league accreditation course starting on Monday. Last I heard they were looking at getting it up and running straight after that finishes so hopefully in five weeks time.

One more? My taster thing isn't til the 12th as i couldn't get anything sooner.

Might be worth ringing and seeing if you can get on tonight, there may still be spaces. £80 for four weeks.

Monday night track league accreditation is down near the bottom of the page.

tried calling up yesterday but couldn't get through. Too late for me to get my bike out of the containers now.

Stage 3 this Thursday, then one more, final stage, and I should be fully accredited, hopefully by the end of May. Not sure about track league, as it means I'd have to carry set of wheels to Lea Valley on Monday and then take them to Herne Hill on Wednesday, which is a pain.
-
• #7
Are you allowed to use your wheels with hire bikes?
-
• #8
No
-
• #9
Thought not

Coach at my Level 4 accreditation (everyone passed btw, unlike level 3 which had high fail rate) said that Track League won't be starting until Autumn.
-
• #11
That's good news. No conflict with the summer league at Herne Hill.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays would also see no conflict with the summer league at Herne Hill.

Track League.
As far as I know there are no dates or firm plans for a track league at present.
Lea Valley, my club, was approached by the Velo Park about this earlier in the year; as were all other clubs in the Eastern Region. As far as I know not much came of this. We do have some skills and experience in organising track racing but it's old and getting older.
We really want to talk to all the other clubs in NE London and LFGSS about organising track racing there. I suspect most other clubs north of the river have limited experience of track racing..We will probably all need to visit other tracks and talk to other clubs to learn how it's done.
So if you want to talk about a track league at the Velo Park then do get in touch..

Thanks for the update.
Last I heard there would be a Monday night league starting in October. This is from the Willesden CC track secretary. So I have started the accreditation process.
I called up last week and the receptionist at lee valley said there isn't a league planned at the moment.
I would recommend speaking to Welwyn for advice running a league as theirs is very good from what I have heard.

I spoke to someone yesterday at Lee Valley Velodrome who works there and they said it should hopefully start in October, but it could start in January... :(

Jeez

Hopeful is the word,,,
We have not heard about Willesden..
As I mentioned above, if your club( and that includes LFGSSCC) wants to get the track league(s) going then do get in touch

If anybody still needs to do their indoor track race accreditation we have space for 2 more riders on our trip to Newport on Weds 19th November. This will be from 12.00-4.00pm, consisting of 3 hours skills/drills followed by 1 hour race accreditation, which then qualifies use of any indoor 250 m track in the UK. (all in the one session, unlike Lee Valley where it's over 4 weeks).
The session cost will be £60 each, although you would need to make your own travel arrangements with your bike (hire bikes available at £10 each).
Srnd a PM with your email address and contact details if you want to join us.

A coach at LVVP told me that the league is starting soon and will be on a Thursday night from 8pm.

Brilliant news

• #21
Good to know - but is there an official start date and who will be running it?
-
• #22
There was a survey going round at HH track league last night asking people if they had a preference for Mondays or Thursdays so I don't think anything is set in stone yet. Also 8pm seems very late for a start, I would hope it would be closer to 7pm to actually fit some racing in before bed time.

8pm. Not ideal if you live anywhere other than East London. Surely most people can make 7pm? Seems to work at HHV....
-
• #24
Seems to work everywhere else too. I hope race entry fees will be sensible too, anything more than a tenner for track league is taking the piss for track IMO.

the piss for track IMO.Judging by prices up at LVV, I wouldn't hold your breath. Best case in point: 1 yr bike storage at LVV-£360 vs 1yr storage at Paris' new National Velodrome-50euros!
Ignoring costs...if it gets going and is run well, with respectful racers and a decent programme, it'll be f*cking ace over the winter.
Hey guys,
Does anyone know when the track league will start? I'm booked in for the 3rd stage of the accreditation on the 17th May.
