I've a pair of Shimano RX100's and the clamp bolt for that is exactly the same as a water bottle cage bolt so find a std cage bolt (as you'll need something a little longer than the one you've got) & nut that fits it and put the nut underneath to tighten the whole lot down including the furked cable clamp :o)
It isn't exactly pretty but it will work -

So, find a longer bolt and screw a nut the other side of the knackered one?
By Joe that might just do it!
Ta Mr Bump, i'll give that a shot.

just to be clear you'll need to put the bolt on the underside of the base clamp section. This isn't the best example as the bolt is really too long but you should get the gist

Genius! Thanks a lot mate
Hi,
The thread on the nut thing that clamps the brake cable has shredded (see pic attached).
Its a Shimano 600 tricolour brake but i think a good few types and makes use the same nut.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone has a broken brake calliper with the same nut thing (or know what is called) that they don't want. Or some advice on how to go about fixing it?
