For Sale: Ribble 653 F&F

A very lovely early 90's Reynolds 653 Ribble frame

Seat tube 53cm c-t
Top tube 54cm c-c

Great detailing like shot in seat stays, and brake bridge, as well as the pink highlights. The early Ribble frame were often other brands labeled up as their own, and this one looks like its a Cougar, now know as Terry Dolan. Either way its a really nice frame.
No dents or dings. A few chips here and there, the most obvious are on the back of one of the forks, however against the bright yellow paint, they look more like, er, Beauty spots !
Ribble logos have been stencilled on so no chance of this purple haze pealing off ....
Comes with Shimano XT headset and cable stops.
Selling as its just that little bit too big for my wifeski.

My understanding is that '653' was a combination of Reynolds 753 tubes for the main triangle and then 531 for the forks and rear stays. A nice little combination of classic tubing.

That's my understanding of the tube set too rcary. The Concealed cables on the top tube which have been silver soldered are a nice touch as well. Would definitely keep it if it was the right size ...

Lovely frameset - strikingly similar in design and sizing (but not colour!) to my elder son's Dolan-built Cougar, bought off dbr here and now languishing in a cellar in manchester.

No its the other way round, 653 has a 753 rear and 531 main tubes & forks.
